Hours of Operation
Usually, the Heritage Museum is open on
the first and third Sundays of each month
from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

The Museum is open every Tuesday morning
from 9:00 to noon.

The construction of our elevator is finally complete
and we are now handicapped accessible! Those
needing the elevator are asked to enter the Museum
toward the rear of the building.

Mascoutah In the Civil War:
Stories You Haven't Heard Before
March 29 to November 16, 2014

To commemorate the sesquicentennial of the Civil War,
the Mascoutah Historical Society has created an exhibit
to highlight how the city's citizens responded to the national
crisis of the Civil War. Visitors to the Heritage Museum
can explore the complexities of Mascoutah's involvement
through artifacts, images, and documents. Citizens of Mascoutah
can be proud of their ancestors' contributions to saving the Union.

In conjunction with the Museum's Civil War exhibit, the
Mascoutah Public Library is offering a series of speakers open

This book, written to accompany the Historical Society's
Civil War exhibit, details the contributions of the men
and women during the war years. Chapters entitled

Republic are supplemented by six appendices
highlighting soldiers' careers and burial locations.
